OUR STORY
Where it all began…
In 2015 singer and songwriter Jared Anderson visited South Africa. There he met Izelle Els, the founder of Club 21, a school for kids with Down syndrome. While there, Jared fell in love with the Down syndrome community and has become an advocate for the Down syndrome community. He created Christmas This Year to both celebrate and honor friends with Down syndrome and raise support Izelle’s work.
Since 2015, Christmas This Year has grown from a couple hundred to an audience of thousands, raising more than a hundred thousand dollars each year.
Every year the show is written and produced by Jared, his wife Megan and a small team of creatives whose hearts have also been captured by the Down syndrome community.
Friends of Club 21
Club 21 is a non-profit South African School committed to educating and developing people with Down syndrome.
Friends of Club 21 is a non-profit in Colorado Springs that exists to support the efforts of Club 21 and raise awareness about Down syndrome in the United States.
